Benefits

With a VSUZH membership, you benefit from a wide range of exclusive offers and opportunities. Membership grants you access to prize draws, discounted tickets for cultural events, festivals, and leisure activities, as well as the option of free legal advice. Click here for details on the benefits.

Some examples of discounts that VSUZH members have already benefited from are the opera house ticket sale, Irchelfest tickets or the university ski day.

Part of the membership fees goes towards student organizations, events and initiatives at UZH, from which you as a VSUZH member can also benefit.

The membership fee is currently CHF 14 per semester, which is roughly the same as:

  • 7.4 cans of Mate

  • 2 beers on the night out

  • 1 doner kebab

  • 1 train ticket from Zurich Main Station to Winterthur and back

  • 3/4 avocado toast in a circle of 8

So, not that much when you think about it. Nevertheless, you can recoup this cost through the benefits, making the membership practically free.

With an average saving of around 5 CHF per benefit, using a VSUZH member benefit three times per semester is enough to recoup the membership fee. ;)

Solidarität

If none of the above points convince you to become a VSUZH member, then perhaps this one will: A VSUZH membership is also a contribution of solidarity for the students who depend on our help.

Membership fees allow the VSUZH to advocate for students and their concerns and problems.

Your membership reinforces the participation of students at UZH and enables a variety of offers and events designed to make studying more accessible and enjoyable.

Membership for the current semester?

It is generally not possible to take out a membership for the current semester.

An exception is possible in the case of parliamentary applications (e.g., running for a committee, the board, or the VSUZH council). Please fill out the form below. You will then receive an invoice for the semester fee (CHF 14) via email, which you should pay within 14 days.
