Financing your studies

The University of Zurich attracts students from diverse backgrounds and with a wide range of part-time jobs. This naturally results in a variety of financial situations among the students. Studying is extremely time-consuming – students invest a great deal of energy in acquiring knowledge. Tuition fees, rent, and food can all pose a significant challenge for many students.

For the VSUZH (Association of Students at the University of Zurich), one of its highest priorities is ensuring that as many high school graduates as possible have the opportunity to study. Under the current circumstances, this also means that some of them will be dependent on scholarships or loans.

Applying for financial aid from the canton or university is not a sign of failure or inferiority. We all live under very different circumstances and can rely on mutual solidarity and support from time to time. You can find all the important information on the website of the Student Finance Office.

Loans from students for students

The Student Loan Foundation supports students once during their studies with an interest-free loan of up to CHF 4,000.
